Fred Graham needs money – desperately. So the theatre producer’s hopes rest entirely on his latest musical, for which he is responsible as writer, producer, director and lead actor all at once: *Kiss Me, Kate*! To ensure the show is a success, he has cast his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi, a star whose glory days are behind her, in the lead role. Fred and Lilli might even be getting back together, were it not for Lois Lane, who plays the role of Bianca. When Lilli learns that Fred actually has his eye on Lois, she becomes a ‘rebellious’ figure – and not just on stage. And then there are the crooks who mistake Fred for the signatory of a promissory note that was actually signed by Lois’s boyfriend, Bill Calhoun…
