My first encounter with the performative aspect of costumes came during my childhood in Bern, as part of my training in classical ballet. I developed a conscious interest in costume design later on, whilst studying fashion design in Basel. During my studies and through various internships and projects in Berlin and Switzerland, I began to realise that I was particularly interested in the narrative aspects of clothing – the way it brings to life the moods and inner worlds of characters and tells stories. I am fascinated by the history of clothing, in everyday life, in theatre and in film, and its influence and dialogue with our society.

After completing my Bachelor’s degree in 2017, I moved to Paris. At the Institut Français de la Mode, I deepened my exploration of fashion as part of my Master’s degree and subsequently worked for fashion houses such as Lanvin and Lacoste. During this time, I worked on show collections, as well as collaborations with artists and other brands. 

Since 2022, I have been working as a costume designer, creating costume and character concepts for theatre, opera, operetta and musicals.

Meine erste Begegnung mit der performativen Seite der Kostüme hatte bereits während meiner Kindheit in Bern, im Rahmen meiner Ausbildung im klassischen Ballett. Den bewussten Zugang zum Kostümbild fand ich später, während meines Mode-Design-Studiums in Basel. Im Verlauf des Studiums und während verschiedenen Praktika und Projekten in Berlin und der Schweiz, begann ich zu verstehen, dass mich besonders die erzählerischen Aspekte der Kleidung interessieren – das sichtbar Machen der Stimmungen und inneren Welten von Figuren und das Schildern von Geschichten. Mich fasziniert die Historie der Kleidung, im Alltag, im Theater und im Film, und ihr Einfluss auf und Dialog mit unserer Gesellschaft.

Nach meinem Bachelor-Abschluss 2017 zog es mich nach Paris. Am Institut Français de la Mode vertiefte ich im Rahmen meines Master Studiums meine Auseinandersetzung mit der Mode und und arbeitete anschließend für Modehäuser wie Lanvin und Lacoste. In dieser Zeit arbeitete ich an Showkollektionen, sowie Kollaborationen mit Künstler:innen und anderen Marken. 

Seit 2022 arbeite ich als Kostümbildnerin und kreiere Kostüm- und Charakterkonzepte für Theater, Oper, Operette und Musical.

Ma première rencontre avec l’aspect performatif des costumes remonte à mon enfance à Berne, dans le cadre de ma formation en ballet classique. Je me suis intéressée plus sérieusement à la conception de costumes plus tard, pendant mes études de stylisme à Bâle. Au fil de mes études et des stages et projets à Berlin et en Suisse, j’ai commencé à comprendre que ce sont surtout les aspects narratifs du vêtement qui m’intéressent : rendre visibles les mondes intérieurs des personnages et raconter des histoires. Je suis fascinée par l’histoire du vêtement, dans la vie quotidienne, au théâtre et au cinéma, ainsi que par son dialogue avec notre société.

Après avoir obtenu mon Bachelor en 2017, j’ai déménagé à Paris. À l’Institut Français de la Mode j’ai obtenue mon Master et j'ai approfondi ma réflexion sur la mode. Ensuite j’ai travaillé pour des maisons telles que Lanvin et Lacoste, sur des collections de défilés, ainsi que sur des collaborations avec des artistes et d’autres marques. 

Depuis 2022, je travaille comme costumière et je crée des concepts de costumes et de personnages pour le théâtre, l’opéra, l'opéra comique et la comédie musicale.
